A pivotal character in the sexy new TV series "Gossip Girl," Penn Badgley plays Dan Humphrey, a good boy from the wrong part of town who finds himself drawn into the saucy "Cruel Intensions" dramas of pampered, privileged prep schoolers of New York's Upper East Side.

"My high school wasn't like this," says 20-year-old Badgley. “I was a pretty normal guy, not particularly cool." This from an accomplished actor who's paid his dues and now finds himself in a well deserved lead role of WB's smoldering new teen drama, Gossip Girl. Before taking on the role of good-guy Dan, Badgley—who resides in Los Angeles—knew little about Gossip Girl. "I'd just done a Rugby movie, Forever Strong and had this goatee and a Mohawk. I hadn't even read any of the books.”
